Pterodayctal III was a Class III dirtboat designed by Alan Wirtanen and George Olson. One day with the winds in the high 30's at Ivanpah dry lake, Bill Dale decided to go sailing with only the mast and no sail. When the mast limiter broke at 80+ mph all hell broke loose with it and Jim Hawn was there to film it.
